Good-Bye to Summer, Say Hello To Fall

by on Sep.11, 2010, under Life

I hate to see summer leave us. As much as I love the Autumn season, it just means that winter is on it’s way and all the horrible things that come along with winter. Besides the cold, the snow, the dangerous traffic, it also means that they holiday seasons are on the horizon.

I used to love Christmas as a kid, but now that I’m older it really is just a hassle from start to beginning. Bah Hum Bug” is my attitude, I’m sorry to admit. But that is the way that it is and I can just take it for what it is and get it over and done with and wait with anticipation for spring and summer to arrive to save me.

Bare Minerals

by on Sep.08, 2010, under Friends, Fun Stuff, The Web

My best friend has tried out the Bare Minerals make up that we have been seeing commercials for late at night and really loves it. She came over a few weeks ago and we did a make over on me with her new products and I fell in love with it as well.

I couldn’t get to the computer fast enough to find the website to order my starter kit. It is a bit pricey, but I think that I’m worth it andĀ  have been using the same products for years and I really needed to update my make up bag, big time. I should be receiving my order soon, can’t wait to try it out for myself, by myself and see how it works out for me and my face thatĀ isn’t getting any younger these days.

Fall TV

by on Sep.05, 2010, under Fun Stuff, Life

There are a lot of commercials on the TV showing us the previews of many new shows that are slated to start the next couple of weeks. I’ll be glad to get rid of the summer reruns that we have been stuck watching all summer long. I mean you can only watch the same episode a couple of times and be done with it, right?

Survivor will be moving from it’s typical Thursday night slot, which it has had since day one, to Wednesday night. I don’t think it will effect their ratings much. They have been around for a long time and have a good sized fan base that will follow them no matter what day of the week they land on.

School Days – Let The Traffic Nightmares Begin

by on Sep.03, 2010, under Life

Yesterday was the first day of school for our county. Which means that traffic is going to be a nightmare once again each week day morning due to all of the big yellow school buses that are the busiest in the morning making their rounds around the neighborhoods picking up the K – 12 students to get them safely to school.

It really messes up a lot of people’s morning commute getting stuck behind a slow moving, ever stopping and going yellow school bus. I’m just grateful that most of them are done by the time I’m heading home in the evening.

Hurricane Earl

by on Sep.01, 2010, under Life, News

The forecast for Hurricane Earl is still pretty threatening for the East Coast. The people on North Carolina’s Atlantic coast and Barrier Islands are going to be evacuated. That is always a huge problem for the people who live there. Evacuation means boarding up your house, loading up the car with as much valuable stuff as you can squeeze in, and heading west in miles of backed up traffic to try to get to higher ground.

The hurricane has sustained winds of 135 mph already and the forecast says the winds could easily reach over 150 mph when it hit the North Carolina coast. My heart goes out to the people who live in its path.
