Less Talk

by on May.21, 2011, under Life, Technology

This morning I was thinking about how communications have been changing for people in my generation. Almost no one goes to the store and buys stationery or cards and puts them in the mail We use the internet to send things like that. It’s free, it’s easy, and there are lots of nice web sites that have cute animated cards that say everything you would want to say.

No one has a home phone any more. And unless your job is white collar that requires a phone at your desk for work, most of us don’t use the phone to talk to anyone except our closest friends.

Also, we don’t use email much anymore. . So much email is just spam anyways. I use Facebook and Twitter to keep up with my people, pus a short text from my phone. We talk a lot less but we still communicate.
