The End of September
by Sue on Sep.30, 2010, under Life
Tomorrow is the first day of October. My favorite month (September) is now officially over and winter is right around the corner, what fun, not! I hate winter, don’t like the cold or Christmas. I come from a fairly large family and Christmas is just a hassle each year trying to please everyone in so many ways, sigh…….
Daylight Savings Time will come to an end soon and the days will be getting shorter and colder with passing of each day and week. Each year I wonder why I haven’t moved to a warmer location, but I don’t think that I could be that far away from friends and family for any length of time.
Flu Shot
by Sue on Sep.26, 2010, under Life
My mother has been pestering me to make an appointment with my doctor and get this year’s flu shot. I have never got one before, I don’t like needles, so each year I end up sick with the flu for a week or so and miss a lot of time from work due to it. So I promised my mother that this year I would suck it up and get the “magical flu shot” that seems to help numerous people fight off the flu each year.
I’m not looking forward to it, I’ll probably need to take a Valium before I go, but I’ll give it a try and hopefully it will work for me and I can use those sick days for something else this year!
My Niece’s Writings
by Sue on Sep.25, 2010, under Fun Stuff, Life
I have a real good tight relationship with my kid sister’s daughter, Macina. She is 18 years old and wants to be a writer. She had a dream the other night that she couldn’t shake and ended up writing it down and she sent me a copy of it. I’m so tickled to see her creative writing ability that I had to share it here.
“I Was Carrying Something On My Way Back To The Mountain, As I Saw Two Men High Up On The Mountain Beating On A Newborn Amethyst Baby Dragon That Had Just Hatched From Its Egg Not Long Before. So I Dropped Whatever It Was That I Was Carrying And Headed Towards Them As Fast As I Could And Once I Got There I Kicked Them Out Of The Way And They Ended Up Crashing Into A Boulder, Dead. Then The Amethyst Baby Dragon, While In Incredible Pain, Tried To Stand Up As If Nothing Had Happened. Tears Started To Flow Out Through My Eyes, But Before They Could, The Baby Dragon Fell To Ground, Unable To Move. I Rushed Over As Fast I Could And Tried My Absolute Best To Heal The Amethyst Baby Dragon. Yet It Was Too Late, There Was Nothing That I Could’ve Done Now, For The Baby Dragon Had Died. I Held The Amethyst Baby Dragon In My Arms, Crying Uncontrollably. And Once Night Fell, I Still Couldn’t Stop Crying, But I Was Able To Dig A Grave For The Baby Dragon, A Worthy Grave, A Grave So Great That It Was Worthy Of Being A Dragons Grave. I Still Couldn’t Stop Crying Though, For The Sadness And Pain Was Too Much, Many Large Puddles Of Water Were Made From My Tears. And Once I Was Finally Able To Move On, I Left, And I Took The Amethyst Baby Dragons Egg With Me, To Remind Me Of That Fateful Day. To Keep The Memory Of The Amethyst Baby Dragon Alive.”
Online Research
by Sue on Sep.20, 2010, under Life, The Web
I’ve been spending so much time on my computer researching cell phones and all of the providers that there are out there for us to choose from. I had no idea that there was so much to choose from and decide on. I have found several websites that you can go to and they have taken a lot of the leg work out of gathering current information on various providers, their products and their promotions to compare for you.
I do believe that I’ll be going with AT&T, but I still have a few more weeks to make a decision.
So Long and Good Riddance to Verizon
by Sue on Sep.17, 2010, under Life, The Web
I’ve been waiting for the end of October to arrive so that I can finally say good-bye to my current cell phone provide which unfortunately Verizon. I’ve been stuck with them for the last two years and the count down for October 31st, 2010 began shortly after signing on the dotted line with line.
I need a new phone, nothing fancy, I’m not even into texting or using the Internet on a cell phone and it definitely needs to be a flip phone. I’m so tired of butt calls since my current piece of crap isn’t a flip phone. And the buttons have to be big enough for my thick fingers to be able push correctly all the buttons needed on today’s cell phones.
